Hunting for Mushrooms in Colorado – New York Times

Graham Steinruck guides “…a group of nearly two dozen gathered at the foothills of the Arapaho National Forest in Colorado, in one of the many scenic areas between Denver and Vail. They might have easily been mistaken for typical hikers if not for their accouterments: baskets filled with small waxed bags, pocket knives and paintbrushes of varying sizes. Soon, the group dispersed into the woods alongside the rocky trail, on a hunt for fungi. These were people interested in mycology, the study of mushrooms.”
