Honey Truffle

Mattirolomyces terfezioides
Origin: Hungary
Season: Summer-Fall

Honey truffles are a type of underground, truffle-like fungi found mainly under black locust trees in Eastern Europe. They have a nice, mildly fungal odor that finishes very sweet – similar to honey or saccharin; and are perfect for dessert applications. Our honey truffles are wild-harvested in Hungary.
